It's Tuesday and today started out bad, I shorted out my computers power supply and had to fit a backup one
Anyway after that I'm starting module 4, I want to get ahead as there are a few days over the festive season where I will not be at home to do my uni work
Happy Festive Season to all :)
LOG ENTRY:
- In your learning log record which programs you downloaded and note which (if any) facets you think might prove useful.
1. Adobe's pdf reader
- Adobe's acrobat reader is a great program to use. I know of some people who use it to invoice customers, because they can easily add pics and text together in a pdf. This is handy for their and the customers reference. Acrobat reader is free, but you have to buy an application to make the pdf file. So this is a disadvantage
2. Flash/Shockwave Players
- Adobe's flash is a great program for making interactive animations for websties. However even though flash is great for this, it is invisible to search engines and this is why it is only used sparingly on website's. Despite it not being search engine friendly flash is an amazing web tool and may in the future be used more widely
3. Media Players
- I don't use real one media player and have only used apple quick time a few times and also don't like it. I use windows media player for listening to online radio and viewing DVDs on my computer.
4. Search Manager/Combiners
- I don't use search managers or combiners, but I can see where these applications may be useful, such as if you wanted to expand your search capabilities
5. Bookmark Manager
- I don't use a bookmark manager, but can see where it would be useful, ie if you had lots of bookmarks and wanted to clear out the broken or old links
6. Offline Browser/Copier
- these application's were useful in the past before the onset of broadband, where you were timed on how long you were online. These days this application could be useful in showing sites offline or for making backups
